How we earn a commission

When you find a deal on Mixed Bag Sportsman and book it through one of our deal links or by using a coupon code we provide, we may earn a commission from the charter operator. The commission comes from the operator's side of the transaction as a thank-you for sending them a customer.

It never costs you more

This is the part that matters most: booking through our link or coupon never increases the price you pay. You pay the same as you would going directly to the captain — and often less, because the whole point of Mixed Bag is to surface discounted last-minute seats. The commission is paid by the operator, not added on top of your fare.

It's how we fund the service

These commissions are how we keep Mixed Bag running. They pay for the work of collecting captains' open seats, reviewing every submission, publishing approved deals, and getting them in front of anglers fast. Because we only earn when you actually book, our interests are aligned with yours: we succeed when we connect you with a real trip at a real discount.

Our opinions aren't for sale

An affiliate relationship never buys a spot on Mixed Bag. We only promote deals that have been reviewed and approved as real, current, and genuinely discounted — you can see exactly how in how we vet deals. A deal earns its place because it passes that review, not because of what we might make on it. We say this so you can trust what you see here: the recommendation comes first, the commission second.
